Back in the day, in March 2020, you could take orders over the phone, and handle cash and credit cards without a thought about online services because business was good.

A year and some months later, consumers' thirst for everything online is at an all-time high and it's creating a further challenge for the technically underdeveloped bowling center. The old saying "easy wins" has never been more applicable.

Here's a new path - use online software to manage visitor flow. Here's how:

Accommodate Customer Numbers

If you’re not able to have walk-ins anymore for fear of overcrowding, good online booking systems will help you to limit the numbers of guests that you can have, and they’ll help you to determine this by specific packages/event types that you’re offering.

Stagger Times

Offer a strict number of time slots and allow your customers to book these online. By staggering the times, you’re allowing your staff enough time to clean up and disinfect the place before the next groups of people come in.

Touchless Payment

With social distancing measures in place, taking deposits or even full amounts before an event takes place will help to minimize physical contact between your staff and customers.

Sell Products Online

Do you offer food on site, or do you have other products that you can sell to your customers? You can encourage your customers to order these products from the comfort of their homes. There can even be an option for it to be delivered to their house or to be picked up at the store.

Publishing Health & Safety Guidelines

Make it easy for your customers to keep up-to-date with any developments in your health and safety guidelines. Once this has been set up, you don’t need to worry about having to ask your web master to make the changes for you.

Contingency Planning

The reality is that with the risk of more localized breakouts in the future, there’s always the possibility of businesses having to close down again. This time, you can be more prepared. Easily block out dates so that your customers aren’t able to book online. Quickly get in contact with customers who have made bookings with you so that they are aware of the new situation.

There are a myriad of online booking systems out there that you can choose from, but do make sure that they can meet your needs as much as possible.
